MEDICARE ELIGIBLE PRESCRIPTION DRUG BENEFITS

PRESCRIPTION DRUG PLAN ENHANCEMENT – EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2027

In January 2025, the Superior Officers Council successfully transitioned its Medicare-eligible members and their Medicare-eligible dependents to the OptumRx Employer Group Waiver Plan (EGWP), a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan designed to meet the requirements of the federal Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.

Since its implementation, the EGWP has proven to be a successful program, providing our Medicare-eligible membership with comprehensive prescription drug coverage while helping to reduce out-of-pocket expenses.

We are pleased to announce an additional benefit enhancement effective January 1, 2027:

The Superior Officers Council will eliminate the 15% Tier 1 copayment on generic medications.

This enhancement means that covered Tier 1 generic medications will be available at no cost to eligible members and dependents, further reducing prescription drug expenses.

2027 Annual Maximum Out-of-Pocket (MOOP) Update

The annual Maximum Out-of-Pocket (MOOP) limit for prescription drugs will increase to
$2,400 effective January 1, 2027. This represents a change to the plan’s annual out-of-pocket limit in accordance with updated Medicare Part D requirements.

The Superior Officers Council remains committed to strengthening the benefits available to our membership while continuing to provide comprehensive, affordable prescription drug coverage.

THE SUPERIOR OFFICERS WILL PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE.
